Black Ops Cold War brought a new introduction with itself called the Wildcards in 2020. Then, we saw this addition again recently in Black Ops 6.
So far, there are just six to unlock when grinding through the stages with your pals, but choosing only one remains challenging, especially if you wish to spend a permanent unlock on one after reaching Prestige. We’ve graded all of the Wildcards in Black Ops 6 to ensure you always have the winning hand.
What are Wildcards?
A wildcard functions as a modifier when creating your loadouts, and you will get additional ability. However, remember you can only use one Wild Card each class, so choose wisely!
The Wildcard slot is the final part of your loadout that you can customize. These Wildcards utterly change your gear. They either change what you can place in your loadout or enable you to equip something additional into your whole loadout.
All Black Ops 6 Wildcards, ranked
There is some personal choice in which Wildcard you prefer over others, but in most situations, the ones we’ve classified as the best will provide every player an advantage in online matches. Here are all the wildcards ranked from best to worst.
Perk Greed
You can unlock this card at level 54, and this final Wildcard you unlock is perhaps the most powerful. Perk Greed allows you to add a fourth Perk to your loadout instead of being limited to three, which may almost destroy the game if you select the perfect collection of Perks. It is also the most adaptable of the Wildcards since it provides you with the most possibilities to play with rather than a specific advantage that you may not need.
Gunfighter
Gunfighter is located in the center of the unlock list. It is a Wildcard that you may easily argue for above Perk Greed in some instances. This raises your primary weapon’s attachment points by three. If you currently have a top-tier weapon, this Wildcard allows you to increase its stats even further. We rate it second since it only applies to one weapon, making it entirely restricted.
Overkill
Overkill is an excellent early Wildcard pick. This card lets players equip non-melee Black Ops 6 weapons in the Primary and Secondary slots. This will have a significant impact on how players battle, as they will no longer need to switch to a pistol and instead use a one-shot shotgun or more.
Prepper
Field improvements are no doubt dangerous, but having two instead of one isn’t necessarily much of a game-changer. It’s somewhat less helpful than Gunfighter since field upgrades are more situational and require more attention to maximize their effectiveness. If that’s you, this is an excellent pick.
Danger Close
Danger Close is the lethal variant of Tactical Expert, which provides you with one additional charge of any lethal weaponry you bring into the fight. This implies that players can enter the battle with two of their preferred grenades, but in the Black Ops 6 meta, a grenade will not save a life or win the game, especially given how rapid the fighting can be with omnimovement.
Danger Close is suitable for those who enjoy explosives.
Tactical Expert
This is the first Wildcard you get, and it is somewhat better than nothing. It’s identical to Danger Close. However, you can carry two Tacticals instead of Lethals. This is inherently worse since Tacticals cannot kill an adversary. You can make some use of them, but you should upgrade as soon as you have another alternative.
How to Unlock Wildcards in Black Ops 6
You can gain Wildcards by simply leveling up, with the Tactical Expert Wildcard being accessible after you reach Level 15. There are five further Wildcards after that: Overkill (Level 24), Gunfighter (Level 33), Danger Close (Level 38), Prepper (Level 45), and Perk Greed (Level 54). You can find the criteria for this and all other Level Unlocks in Black Ops 6 in-game through the Barracks’ Progression menu.
