Deadpool in Marvel Rivals

One of the most fan-favourite Marvel figures is finally being released as a playable character in Marvel Rivals: Deadpool! That’s right, come January 16, 2026, Marvel Rival players will finally be able to play as the Crimson Comedian, Wade Wilson. Popular superheroes like Spider-Man, Iron Man, and even Daredevil were already on the roster, but introducing Deadpool is going to change the game for Marvel Rivals players. With Season 6 quickly approaching, players are already planning on how to master the character and even considering rank boosting to get an upper hand when he finally launches.

Deadpool’s Role and Playstyle

Deadpool is going to show up in a Duelist role when he launches. Unlike big hitters like Black Panther or Iron Fist, Deadpool really comes alive when you need to think fast and make some split-second decisions. Based on what we know about his personality, he is the kind of character you pick when you want to take charge & dictate the pace of the battle. If your usual go-to in Marvel Rivals is Star-Lord or Psylocke, then playing as Deadpool might actually feel like old hat.

Deadpool’s Abilities

At his core, the Merc with a Mouth is all about three things: guns, swords, and regenerating. So it is no surprise his abilities in the game reflect just that.

Twin Pistols

Deadpool’s twin pistols act as his main ranged tool. They fire quickly, deal consistent damage, and allow him to soften targets before committing. Like Winter Soldier’s weapon, but faster and more mobile.

Katanas

When things get dire and a little too close for comfort, Deadpool’s katanas take over. These are not just basic melee swings. They appear to double as mobility tools, letting Deadpool dash, jump away, or escape after securing a kill. This makes him extremely dangerous in tight spaces.

Healing Factor

Last but not least, Wade’s healing abilities. Deadpool slowly regenerates health over time. This keeps him alive in extended fights without making him invincible, forcing smart engagement timing instead of reckless charging. He is not called the ‘Regenerating Degenerate’ for nothing.

The Ultimate Ability

Based on the Season 6 trailer, Deadpool’s Ultimate turns him into pure chaos. He enters a boosted state where his speed, damage, and survivability all increase. This is your moment to lock in and completely disrupt team fights.

There is also strong speculation that NetEase leans into Deadpool’s humor. Teleports, random explosives, or even light fourth-wall interactions would fit perfectly with his character. While full-screen blocking jokes are unlikely, subtle meta humor could make his Ultimate one of the most entertaining abilities in the game.

Bonus Tips for Playing Deadpool Effectively

  • Play aggressively, but with purpose. Aim to weaken your opponents before going in for the kill.
  • Pick your battles. Even Deadpool cannot do it all.

  • Use mobility to control fights. Deadpool’s katanas are positioning tools that can be used to dash away before your target gets back at you.
  • Carefully time your Ultimate. Triggering it too early would waste its impact.
  • Coordinate with your team. Deadpool is a Duelist hero, which means he works best when he pairs up with a Strategist who can provide shields and crowd control.
  • Learn the map layout early on. Knowing the escape routes and vertical paths will certainly provide you with an edge during a fight.

Deadpool is definitely the most eagerly awaited hero in Marvel Rivals at the moment. Whether you are playing with friends, trying out crazy team comps, or even buying accounts to skip right to ranked Season 6 matches, playing with Deadpool will bring a whole new vibe to the game. He is loud, wild, and utterly unpredictable, just the kind of high-energy superhero that Marvel Rivals has been missing.
