Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Season 6 Patch Notes: The Final Season12 min read

call of duty season 6

Season 6, the final season of Modern Warfare, follows a Halloween theme similar to Call of Duty’s annual Halloween event: The Haunting. The atmosphere is quite ghostly and centers around maps, game modes, weapon blueprints, and operators.

Powerful Nerfs To Season 5 Weapons

The STG-44 assault rifle, extremely powerful in season 5, received an 8% reduction in maximum damage. Moreover, it had a 17% decrease in maximum damage range, a 14% drop in near-medium damage range, and a 13% reduction in medium damage range.

The developer has addressed these adjustments so that STG-44 can no longer achieve a three-kill shot within its maximum range.

Furthermore, another significant nerf deals with the Static-HV submachine gun from season 5. It received a 9% reduction in maximum damage and a 7% damage reduction in the medium to near-medium range. According to developers, this was done to remove the Static-HV’s ability to 4-shot someone to the body.

Weapons Buffs

Now comes the fun part.

Modern Warfare 3 Season 6 patch notes have had a significant focus on buffing Assault Rifles to add them to the meta, hopefully. This includes increasing the range and damage of the M4, Chimera, Tempus Razorback, M13C, and TR-76 Geist assault rifles.

Since well-known SMGs like Superi 46 and Static-HV have been de-throned, these will likely be replaced by SMGs from MW2, which have received notable buffs. These include ISO 45, ISO 9mm, PDSW 528, and Fennec 45 submachine guns.

Among these, the Fennec 45 is the most unique with its remarkable adjustments, consisting of an 8% increase in maximum damage, a 30% boost to near medium damage, and an extra 28% increase to medium damage.

Changes To Multiplayer Gamemode

Cyber Attack

Some changes have been made to improve the quality of life. These include fixing enemy pings that used to go inactive after death, changing the scoreboard icons in Hardcore mode, and fixing the Enhanced Vision Goggles to display dead enemies correctly.

Infected

This mode received many changes, such as the disabling of the UAV sweeps. According to the developers, this was done to let the survivors hide more effectively. The Dead Silence field upgrade also won’t activate automatically anymore when becoming infected.

After this update, extra time will only be given after the first five survivors’ deaths, limiting the overall match time to 5 minutes. Lastly, many of the maps in the game are now available to play in the Infected game mode playlist.

New Maps

There is only one totally new addition in Season 6: Drive Thru. It features a little clown-themed eatery that offers lots of fast-paced excitement. However, it is accompanied by Mad Cow, a Meat reskin that adds to the map’s bloodier appearance.

This version also includes five Shipment variants: Arena Shipment, Bit-ment, Ghost Ship, Stay High, and Sunny Shipment. All of them preserve the map’s traditional layout while offering alternative themes to keep things interesting.

New Weapons

We saw the addition of two new weapons in this season. You can get both the DTIR 30-06 and Kastov LSW from the Season 6 Battle Pass. DTIR 30-06 unlocks from Sector 6 and Kastov from Sector 9. The DTIR 30-06 is a battle rifle with 20 levels. It is seen as a “steady and powerful” weapon that “works wonders in the hands of a skilled operator.” On the other hand, the Kastov LSW is an unusual LMG with 16 levels that “encourages closing the distance” due to its high fire rate with “incredible accuracy in Tactical Stance,” and fast reload speed.

Haunting Event

The Haunting has made a reappearance in MW3 Season 6, bringing new prizes for you to win. You must participate in the Trick ‘r Treat: Candy Hunt Event and take your opponents’ candy before cashing in for “killer rewards” in multiplayer.

This event also marks the return of themed game modes such as Infected and Hordepoint. Along with these, Arcade and Mutation will provide gamers with plenty of content to engage with throughout the season.
