Activision has introduced changes to many of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Vault Edition Operator skins in response to player feedback, aiming to achieve visual authenticity and thematic consistency. Three of the four operators that come with the Vault Edition will impact, and one of them also gets extra skin cosmetics. Here are some changes, the reasons behind them, and the responses from fans.

What’s Changing
The Call of Duty development team recently announced in a blog post that Karma (“Tech Guardian”), Harper (“Warranty Breaker”), and T.E.D.D. (“Aether Assembly”) will go through massive visual changes to better fit the tone of Black Ops 7 and player demands.
Players looking for more cosmetic options can also buy COD Points to unlock bundles and Operator skins.
The devs are making one of the major changes to T.E.D.D. In order to better reflect his original, darker design from Black Ops 2 (TranZit mode), he has a “decomposed” Vault Edition skin.
Vault Edition customers will also get an additional skin based on the version that the developers revealed during Black Ops 7 (with a few changes).
Players can also opt for a Prestige Boost service in BO6, helping them climb levels faster and unlock exclusive rewards.
Changes
- Karma will have her visor and hologram plates altered so that her face is clearer and less emphasized.
- Treyarch will change Harper’s armor to be less garish and more in line with the game’s design language, and his skin will be simplified and recolored.
- Reaper (EWR-3 “Mind and Metal”), the fourth operator in the Vault Edition package, will not change; his skin will stay as it was first seen.

Why the change
Fan reaction has been a driving force. The original designs were criticized by several players as being overly gaudy, cartoon-like, or in line with what they expected from Black Ops, which is a military shooter that is realistic and rather brutal.
In answer developers said that one of the goals for Black Ops 7 is to bring back consistency to the operator skins and other cosmetics by creating a more realistic visual style.
Expect BO6 Season 5 Reloaded to drop around September 4 or 11, featuring new weapons, modes, and a refreshed map.
