BO7 Audio Settings

Like most first-person shooter games, the sound of footsteps matters in BO7. The game offers some of the biggest and busiest launch maps. This is why the ambient noise, explosions, and the environmental audio make it really difficult for players to hear their opponents approaching.

Whether you are playing ranked matches to level up or boosting camos to play casually, hearing directional movement is absolutely crucial and makes a huge difference to your gaming experience.

Black Ops 7 Season 1: Audio Upgrades

Gamers have instantly noticed just how much better this new title in the Black Ops series is, in terms of sound quality. You can perfectly hear the buildings cracking, the fans spinning, and the vents humming. Black Ops 7’s crisp audio features are truly some of the best in the entire gaming world. Treyarch also upgraded ambient noise features in Season 1 to match the visual upgrades. However, with all of these loud and clear sounds, the sound of your enemies approaching can sometimes get lost. This BO7 audio settings guide will help you listen to the more important sounds better.

First things first: tweak your music settings as these can majorly negatively impact your gameplay. Near the end of a multiplayer match, the music starts getting incredibly intense; which can prevent you from hearing your enemies coming. The best approach would be to turn the music down, or turn it off entirely. You can also turn down the dialogue volume, so you can hear the directional sounds more clearly.

The Ideal BO7 Audio Settings

Some of the other settings you can choose are as follows.

  • Master Volume: 80 to 100
  • Hit Marker Volume: 60
  • Music Volume: 0 to 15
  • Dialogue Volume: 20 to 30
  • Effects Volume: 100
  • Ambient Volume: 0 to 20
  • Reduce Tinnitus: On
  • Mono Audio: Off

Loudness Equalization: A Game Changer

Truth be told, your default settings in Black Ops 7 might just be holding you back. Along with having the most optimal Black Ops 7 PC settings to ensure an amazing gaming experience, you should also lean towards enabling Loudness Equalization.

Loudness EQ compresses the entire sound mix. This means that quiet, low sounds like footsteps are amplified, while major, explosive noises are turned softer. Turning your EQ on can help you with most games, but with Black Ops 7; it can truly change the outcome of your match. A lot of maps in this game have high ambient noise, which can make it really difficult to spot and kill your opponents. If your Loudness Equalizer is disabled, the sound of footsteps blends in with the sounds of the wind, the machinery, and other environmental clutter.

Enabling Loudness EQ on your PC is pretty simple. You just need to:

  1. Open your Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Sound’ settings.
  3. Select your headset.
  4. Go to the ‘Enhancements’ tab.
  5. Select ‘Loudness Equalizer’.
  6. Apply and save your settings.

Black Ops 7’s Season 1 not only brought out the big guns and maps, but also tweaks to the sound effects and how cues are balanced. Sound has always been a competitive advantage in the world of Call of Duty: Black Ops, and with the right combination of BO7 audio settings, you will absolutely incinerate your opponents. So select these settings and take them for a trial run in BO7 Bot Lobbies before you go for the kill in ranked matches.
