ARC Raiders Faces Server Issues Following Launch
Even though ARC Raiders is $40, Embark Studios’ PvPvE video game is currently going past free-to-play games, including Naraka: Bladepoint and Apex Legends. It’s currently in seventh place and has more than 160,000 concurrent players. It continues to be among some of the best-selling games across the entire Steam platform at the time of writing.

It currently has an 80% positive rating on Steam, with many appreciating its concept and mechanics. Fans are asking developers to put less emphasis on the paid cosmetics. Many have also requested a PvE-only option, claiming that the launch would’ve been much better if ARC Raiders had followed in the footsteps of the Helldivers 2. However, the vast majority of players are fond of the third-person extraction shooter, claiming it’s the biggest one of the year.
Many players also saw a generative AI warning on the game’s Steam page, reading, “During the development process, we may use procedural- and AI-based tools to assist with content creation. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.” Embark’s last game also used generative AI for commentary in matches.
However, ARC Raiders’ design director Virgil said in an interview with PCGamesN, “Arc Raiders in no way uses generative AI whatsoever. We use something called machine learning, or reinforcement learning, and that’s to do with the locomotion for our larger drones with multiple legs, but there’s no generative content whatsoever.”
