How to Get Schemas in Marathon
Schemas can be obtained through several methods in Marathon, primarily through the Rewards Pass or during actual Runs. Every season, you can unlock a set of Schema goods via the Rewards Pass, and these are free for owners of Rewards Passes; you don’t need to purchase the Premium version. During Runs, Schemas can be discove red in various searchable containers throughout the map. The most reliable places to find them include weapon-based loot boxes, Arms Lockers, and Tool Carts. However, it’s important to note that the likelihood of a Schema appearing in these containers is entirely random. There is no guaranteed method to find them during any specific run, so exploration and thorough looting are key. If you have room in your inventory during a run, Schemas are worth taking, but only if they are at least blue rarity. The Faction Armory stores start selling green weapons and equipment rather early in the game, making lower-tier Schemas less valuable. Free loot is still free loot, so there’s no reason not to grab it if you have the space.
How to Use Schemas in Marathon
To use a Schema effectively, you must follow two key rules. First, you must successfully exfil with any Schema found during a run; if you die while carrying it, the Schema is gone forever. There are no safe containers to protect items upon death. Once secured, a Schema is named after the weapon it bestows, like the Magnum MC Pistol. Each Schema comes with a limited number of free uses, displayed in its description. You can view these weapons in the Armory tab of your Loadout menu. Schemas purchased through the Rewards Pass are used immediately upon acquisition.
