Forza Horizon 6 Not Coming To PS5 at Launch, Confirms Microsoft3 min read

Forza Horizon 6 PS5

Following years of anticipation and waiting, Forza Horizon 6 was finally announced this week. The driving game in the series is headed straight to Japan first. Unfortunately, no gameplay was displayed from the game. However, it is expected that the game will launch on Xbox and PC next year. In this article, we’ll discuss why Forza Horizon 6 won’t be coming to PS5 at launch!

Forza Horizon 6 Won’t Come On PS5 at Launch

While Forza Horizon 5 contains an extensive list of cars, fans are just about ready to jump into a new game in the series. Unfortunately, for many, Forza Horizon 6 won’t be coming out on PS5 at launch. But, it will arrive some time later. This means that PlayStation 5 players will be left out since the upcoming eagerly awaited driving game is set to come out on Xbox and PC at launch.

If you notice, there’s a small note at the bottom of the Xbox Wire post. It reads, “Forza Horizon 6 will launch first on Xbox consoles and PC in 2026. With the excitement for this franchise on other platforms, Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios are also working together to bring Forza Horizon 6 to PlayStation 5 post-launch.” It came as a shock to many players.

This is because of Microsoft’s latest cross-platform policy. Doom: The Dark Ages launched on PlayStation 5 simultaneously with the different platform versions. Whereas, The Outer Worlds 2 is also scheduled to launch on Xbox and PlayStation on the same day and date. However, PS5 fans can jump into Forza Horizon 5 and get credits for sale from the MitchCactus website.

Forza Horizon 5 came out in November 2021. Microsoft claims that its launch was among some of the biggest launches in Xbox history at that time. The game saw the arrival of more than 10 million players in only the first week of its release. FH5 also came out on PlayStation 5 earlier this week. It instantly became a huge hit for Microsoft right off the bat.

FH6

The eagerly anticipated FH6 is scheduled to launch in 2026. It’s set to feature the urban and rural parts of Japan, based on what director Don Arcera told the Xbox Wire blog. He said, “While we’re not announcing too much in terms of detail right now, we’re excited to show fans the true breadth of beauty – both natural and urban environments – that Japan has to offer,”

He also said, “From the neon lights and towering buildings of Tokyo City – one of our most detailed and layered environments to date – to the serenity and natural beauty of Japan’s rural and mountain areas, we think players will be blown away by the open world of Japan that we have built.“ Until the game comes out, you can get yourself some Rare Cars in Forza Horizon 5.

Conclusion

That’s all there is to know about Forza Horizon 6 not coming to PS5 at launch. There’s another year of waiting ahead of us, so in the meantime, it’s best to simply get some backstage passes in FH5 and make the most of that.
