Why Were Fortnite Water Sprites Removed2 min read

Fortnite water sprites

Fortnite introduced Water and Air Sprites into the game at the beginning of Chapter 6. The former was responsible for healing and offering shields, whereas the latter used to act as a throwable updraft. It didn’t take long for these adorable creatures to become fan-favorite items in the game, with players even requesting the devs to make backbling versions of them.

Unfortunately, in the latest March 25 update, Epic Games removed Water Sprites from the battle royale. This is because of a duplicate glitch that a handful of players were taking advantage of. While you still have Golden Llamas in the game, you won’t be seeing the Water Sprites for some time. In this article, we’ll discuss this glitch and dive deeper into why these creatures were removed!

Fortnite’s Duplicate Water Sprites Glitch

Hypex is a popular and reputable dataminer and leaker who has a dedicated Fortnite account. They recently reported that the Water Sprites had been removed from the game on March 25, Tuesday, stating that this decision was taken due to an “infinite builds HP glitch.” This bug has been shared by multiple players on various social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

It’s a duplicate glitch that allows players to spawn plenty of Water Sprites in the game’s Build mode. A TikTok user relishhtv recently shared a clip where the bug can be seen. It shows one user throwing a Water Sprite and another one picking it up simultaneously. This tends to cause some reaction where the little creature is duplicated by itself.

Once the Sprite that was previously thrown away by the player wakes up, the players can continue to pick another and repeat the same process all over again as much as they want. It’ll create an entire army of these small, adorable creatures that will be ready to serve them. It’s easily understandable why the developers felt the need to remove this feature from the game.

The glitch could have offered players a way to get an infinite source of shields and heals. So, it sounds only right to know that Epic Games has taken the feature away. At the time of writing, we aren’t sure if the developers plan on bringing the Water Sprites back into the game. Not only this, but they haven’t even officially addressed this particular issue anywhere.

Conclusion

In the meantime, all we can do is hope that the Water Sprites end up rejoining the action. For now, all you can do is continue finding those Gold Veins in Fortnite to get your hands on some Gold Bars in the battle royale game.

That’s all there is to know about the duplicate Water Sprite glitch in Fortnite. Till they get added back, you can enhance your gameplay experience to make up for them by getting some V-Bucks from the MitchCactus website.
