Arc Raiders is built on Unreal Engine 5 which is known to be a demanding engine. Despite this, Embark has managed to highly optimize the game to provide good performance on most PCs. You might disagree with this if you have a low-end PC. Afterall, constant FPS drops and stutters can ruin your entire gaming experience.
This article will guide you on fixing your FPS drops and tell you the best graphics settings for maximum FPS!
Fixing FPS Drops
Before we start with the graphics settings, let’s first work on optimizing the PC for your game.
- Close Background Applications

Before starting the game, go to your taskbar and click on the expand (or arrow) icon to see all the running background apps. Right click all the ones you don’t need during your gaming session and close/quit them. This is especially important if you have a live wallpaper since these consume a lot of GPU performance.
You could also take this a step further by closing processes inside Task Manager, but only do that if you know what you’re doing. This will free up some memory and CPU usage.
- Update Graphics Drivers

Secondly, update your graphics drivers to the latest available version before you hop into a game. This will ensure you don’t get any unnecessary compatibility issues or bugs that might exist in the older drivers. Since the game is new, this is especially important because you might experience performance issues on older driver versions.
We recommend that you don’t try and update the drivers through Device Manager. Instead if you’re on Nvidia, download the Geforce Experience app and check if any updates are available. This app will automatically download and install updated drivers.
