You cannot manually switch the live free-roam season whenever you want. The shared map follows a weekly server rotation, but Creative Hub lets you select Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter inside a custom activity.
The chosen conditions only apply to that event. Once you return to free roam, the game restores the current global season.
Can You Manually Change Seasons in Forza Horizon 6?
No. The main open world follows a synchronized server clock, so every player sees the same active season, weather, road conditions, and Festival Playlist content.
Each season lasts one week and rotates through:
- Spring
- Summer
- Autumn
- Winter
The reset happens every Thursday at 2:30 PM UTC. A short countdown appears before the rollover, then the map reloads with new weather, events, challenges, and rewards.
Changing your PC or console date will not override the live rotation. Creative Hub or EventLab is the only way to experience another season immediately.
How to Change Seasons Through Creative Hub
Pause the game, open Creative Hub, and select My Creative Hub.
Choose a custom activity type:
- Route
- Event
- Challenge
- CoLab
A short route is enough. You do not need to create a full race just to access the condition settings.
The official Forza Horizon 6 Race Customizer also lets you change the season, weather, time of day, and time progression after completing that race once.
Choose the Season, Weather, and Time
Open the activity settings and select your preferred:
- Season
- Weather
- Time of day
- Time progression
Save the activity, validate it, and launch it. The selected conditions will remain active inside that custom event.
Fixed vs Dynamic Time Progression
Use Fixed time progression when you want the weather, season, and lighting to stay unchanged.
This is best for:
- Testing car setups
- Practising on snow or wet roads
- Comparing AWD and RWD handling
- Taking screenshots
With Dynamic time progression, the lighting and weather may change during the event. That can feel more natural, but it makes tuning tests less consistent.
Does a Custom Season Change the Main Open World?
No. A custom season only affects the Creative Hub or EventLab activity where it was selected.
When the event ends, the game returns to the live free-roam season. The shared map, weekly challenges, and seasonal rewards remain tied to the official rotation.
Custom Winter does not add permanent snow to the main map, and EventLab weather does not change normal open-world conditions.
How the Weekly Season Rotation Works
The global season changes automatically once per week. The order moves from Spring to Summer, then Autumn, Winter, and back to Spring.
The weekly reset updates:
- Weather and road conditions
- Seasonal championships
- Weekly challenges
- Reward cars
- Live activities
A full four-season cycle takes around one month.
The in-game Forza Horizon 6 Festival Playlist timer shows how long remains before the current season ends.
What Changes With Each Season?
The map layout stays the same, but scenery, visibility, weather, and grip can change.
| Season | Main Effect |
| Spring | Mixed weather and balanced grip |
| Summer | Drier roads and stronger traction |
| Autumn | Variable conditions |
| Winter | Snow, ice, and reduced grip |
Winter has the biggest effect on driving. Braking distances increase, RWD cars become harder to control, and mountain roads need smoother steering and throttle input.
Can EventLab Unlock Seasonal Rewards?
No. Selecting another season in EventLab does not activate that season’s live rewards.
Seasonal championships, weekly objectives, and reward cars remain tied to the official Festival Playlist.
EventLab is useful for testing, tuning, photography, and custom racing, but it cannot restore an expired event or unlock rewards from a previous season.
Prepare for seasonal events with these popular FH6 services:
Why Your Selected Season Is Not Loading
Try these checks:
- Set time progression to Fixed
- Confirm the season under event conditions
- Save and validate the activity
- Restart the custom event
- Reconnect after a weekly reset
Returning to free roam will always restore the live season, so that part is normal.
Best Uses for Custom Season Settings
Custom conditions are useful for:
- Wet-weather tuning
- Winter braking practice
- AWD and RWD comparisons
- Rally or Touge events
- Seasonal screenshots
- Consistent route testing
Running the same route in different seasons also shows whether a tune is genuinely stable or only works on dry roads.
Can You Keep Winter Permanently?
You cannot keep Winter permanently in shared free roam.
You can save a custom activity with Winter selected and time progression set to Fixed. Replaying that event gives you snow whenever you want, but it does not change the live map or weekly rewards.
How to Prepare for Seasonal Events
Seasonal championships may restrict the eligible class, manufacturer, country, or vehicle type.
A useful garage should include several classes, one stable AWD car, and a few wet- or winter-ready tunes.
Some weekly restrictions can expose gaps in your collection. Forza Horizon 6 Rare Cars can help when a required manufacturer or hard-to-find model is missing from your garage.
