Black Ops 6 & Modern Warfare 3 Coming to Xbox Cloud In October3 min read
On Monday, Microsoft officially announced that Call of Duty’s eagerly anticipated title, Black Ops 6, is set to jump onto the Xbox Cloud Gaming platform on October 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. PT. On top of this, two more popular titles from the franchise, i.e., Modern Warfare III and Warzone (Call of Duty’s battle royale title), will also receive Xbox Cloud Gaming support on the same day.
Game Pass Ultimate subscribers have been over the moon following this announcement. This is the first time in the franchise’s history that a CoD game will be available on Xbox Cloud Gaming on day one. In a blog post, Microsoft claimed that “this is a first for the Call of Duty franchise.” It also said, “This opens up even more ways to play Black Ops 6 starting on day one at launch.”
However, it’s important to note that only players with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription can play the three Call of Duty titles on Xbox Cloud Gaming. This particular platform can be accessed through your gaming consoles, mobile phones, PCs, Amazon Fire TV, Meta Quest devices, and “select” Samsung TV. Many players have been eagerly awaiting this exciting news!
What’s more interesting is that Microsoft sold Xbox Cloud Gaming rights for Activision games to Ubisoft some time ago. They did this as a critical measure to get the acquisition via the UK’s Competition & Markets Authority (CMA). Therefore, no news was confirmed regarding Black Ops 6 coming to Xbox Cloud Gaming. Some other Activision Blizzard titles are still not there.
Microsoft also revealed that Black Ops 6 is set to launch on day one with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC subscription. You can get your hands on the game’s digital version through the PlayStation or Xbox game stores. However, if you’re a Windows PC user, you should head to your old Steam platform. The Call of Duty title is right around the corner, so are you ready for it?
What is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 about?
The eagerly anticipated Call of Duty title is set in the 1990s and follows the events of its predecessor, Black Ops Cold War. Its campaign mode features a fictional storyline in which players must go up against a “shadowy force” that has broken through the walls of the U.S. government, forcing them to go undercover. Black Ops 6 features various multiplayer modes.
Black Ops 6 features 16 maps, out of which 12 of them are standard 6v6 maps. On the other hand, four are comparatively smaller Strike maps built for either 2v2 or 6v6 gameplay. In addition, the iconic Zombie mode is also making a comeback with two brand-new maps called Terminus and Liberty Falls. Call of Duty fanatics are in for an exciting rollercoaster!
So, if you want to get started on Black Ops 6, you can practice and walk around the map in BO6 Bot Lobbies.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is set to launch on October 25 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
