Black Ops 7 Prestige

Black Ops 7 brings back the classic Prestige system across Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. Reach Level 55, choose whether to reset your Military Level, and climb through ten Prestiges before entering Prestige Master.

Prestiging is optional. It relocks most level-based loadout items, but it does not erase your weapon progression, camos, challenges, Operators, Battle Pass items, or purchased content.

How Prestige Works in Black Ops 7

Your initial progression runs from Military Level 1 to Level 55. After completing Level 55, Black Ops 7 gives you the option to enter Prestige 1 through the Career menu.

To Prestige:

  1. Open the Career tab.
  2. Select Progression.
  3. Enter the Prestige Hub.
  4. Review the reset warning and available rewards.
  5. Confirm that you want to enter the next Prestige.

Once confirmed, your Player Level returns to 1 and most Level Unlock items relock. In return, you receive a new Prestige icon, access to Prestige Challenges and rewards, plus one Permanent Unlock.

You then level from 1 to 55 again. Repeating that process moves you through Prestige 1 to Prestige 10.

The official Black Ops 7 progression breakdown provides the complete reset, reward, and Weapon Prestige rules.

What Resets When You Prestige?

Entering a new account Prestige resets or relocks:

  • Your Player Level returns to 1.
  • Weapons tied to higher Military Levels relock.
  • Perks, Wildcards, equipment, Field Upgrades, and Scorestreaks tied to Level Unlocks relock.
  • Your custom Loadouts reset.
  • Current-Prestige combat statistics start fresh.

The game still keeps your Lifetime Career statistics inside the Combat Record.

What Do You Keep After Prestiging?

Account Prestige does not remove:

  • Weapon levels and Weapon Prestige progress
  • Weapon camos and reticles
  • Saved weapon builds
  • Challenge progress and rewards
  • Mastery Badges
  • Operators and Emotes
  • Zombies GobbleGums
  • Store and Battle Pass content
  • Weekly Challenge and event rewards
  • Blueprints and items with owned skins

A weapon may temporarily relock because of your new Player Level, but its existing weapon level, camos, and saved builds wait for you. Once you regain access to the base weapon, you can continue from the same weapon progression point.

Additionally, owning a Blueprint keeps its associated weapon available through future account Prestiges.

How Permanent Unlocks Work

Each of the ten account Prestiges grants one Permanent Unlock. You can spend it on one item from the Level Unlock track so that item never relocks during future Prestige resets.

Good options usually include:

  • A high-level Wildcard such as Perk Greed
  • A late-unlock Perk used in several classes
  • A Field Upgrade that cannot be obtained through a Blueprint
  • A Scorestreak central to your playstyle
  • A high-level weapon without an owned Blueprint

Do not rush the decision. Weapons can remain available through Blueprints, while Perks, Wildcards, and some utility items usually do not have that alternative.

Once you enter Prestige Master, all standard Level Unlocks remain available, so unused Permanent Unlocks no longer provide the same benefit.

Black Ops 7 Prestige Icons and Rewards

Each of the ten Prestiges has a separate icon and theme based on military roles or combat symbols. The icon sits inside your level insignia and shows other players your current Prestige.

Every Prestige also offers an instant reward and additional rewards at Levels 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50.

These rewards include:

  • Operator skins
  • Weapon blueprints
  • Loading screens
  • Large decals
  • Emblems
  • Weapon charms
  • Calling Card Challenge sets
  • Permanent Unlocks

Prestige 1, for example, immediately grants the Echo Veil Mason skin, a Permanent Unlock, its Prestige icon, and access to new Multiplayer and Zombies Calling Card challenges.

The later themes move through roles and symbols such as Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Combat Medic, Infiltrator, Zombie, JTAC, Shadows, Drone Operator, Cradle Specialist, and Death.

How Shared Prestige XP Works

Black Ops 7 uses one connected Player Level across its main experiences. XP earned in Co-op Campaign, Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone contributes to the same account progression bar.

Weapon XP also follows the weapon wherever the game supports it. Therefore, using the same gun across Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone can continue its separate weapon-level grind.

Cross-progression links this progress to your Activision account. The existing Black Ops 7 crossplay and progression details explain how linked platforms and matchmaking work.

The main Black Ops 7 progression section also brings current ranks, camos, accounts, challenges, and other supported options together.

What Happens at Prestige Master?

After completing Prestige 10, you automatically enter Prestige Master and continue beyond Level 55. You no longer reset to Level 1.

Prestige Master extends the level cap to 1,000 and adds:

  • The Hellborne Jurado Operator skin
  • The Prestige Master title
  • An orange starting Level Color
  • Further rewards through Level 90
  • Custom Title Challenges beginning at Level 100
  • New Level Colors as you progress
  • Legacy Prestige icons every 100 levels
  • Additional rewards throughout the climb to Level 1,000

Once you reach Level 100, you can complete mode-specific Title Challenges and customize how your Prestige Master status appears.

You also begin unlocking more Level Color options. After Level 100, new colors become available at additional milestones, including multicolor and animated variations.

Meanwhile, each 100-level Prestige Master milestone opens sets of legacy Prestige icons from earlier Call of Duty games. Equipping one replaces the normal Prestige Master icon shown beside your level.

Weapon Prestige: A Second Layer of Progression

Weapon Prestige runs separately from account Prestige. Entering a new account Prestige does not reset your weapon level, and prestiging a weapon does not reset your account level.

Weapons also have different maximum levels. Therefore, you should check the Gunsmith rather than assuming every weapon ends at Level 50.

Once a weapon reaches its listed maximum level, you can choose Weapon Prestige 1.

Weapon Prestige 1

Entering Weapon Prestige 1:

  • Resets the weapon to Level 1
  • Relocks earned non-optic attachments
  • Resets its standard builds and Blueprints
  • Keeps optics permanently unlocked
  • Keeps camos, reticles, charms, decals, stickers, and other customization
  • Unlocks the weapon’s unique Prestige Attachment
  • Grants one Permanent Attachment Unlock
  • Grants a Universal Weapon Prestige 1 camo
  • Creates a Prestige Build
  • Adds a Weapon Prestige icon visible during killcams

The Permanent Attachment Unlock applies only to that weapon. Use it on an attachment you want available immediately during the next weapon-level grind.

Weapon Prestige 2

After leveling the weapon to its maximum again, you can enter Weapon Prestige 2.

This resets the weapon and non-permanent attachments again. However, it also grants:

  • A second Universal Weapon Prestige camo
  • A second Permanent Attachment Unlock
  • A weapon-specific charm
  • A Weapon Prestige 2 icon

Once you max the weapon during Prestige 2, it automatically enters Weapon Prestige Master.

Weapon Prestige Master and Level 250

Weapon Prestige Master does not reset the gun again. Instead, all attachments earned through weapon progression become permanently available, and the level cap extends to 250.

Weapon Prestige Master LevelReward
100Cobalt Circuit weapon-specific camo
150Vermilion Cypher weapon-specific camo
200Violet Network weapon-specific camo
250Final Universal camo and Weapon Prestige Max icon

The camos at Levels 100, 150, and 200 apply only to the weapon that earned them. However, the final Level 250 camo is Universal and can be equipped on other unlocked weapons.

Does Weapon Prestige Reset Camo Progress?

No. Weapon Prestige keeps your Military, Special, Mastery, Prestige, and other unlocked camos.

It also keeps reticles, charms, decals, stickers, and optics. However, it relocks most attachments and resets standard weapon builds during Weapon Prestige 1 and 2.

Account Prestige works differently: it keeps the weapon’s current level and attachments but may temporarily relock the base weapon until your Player Level reaches its normal requirement again.

How to Level Prestige Faster

Use several XP sources at the same time instead of grinding only eliminations.

  • Complete the three Daily Challenges in each mode you play.
  • Focus on objective modes such as Hardpoint, Domination, and Kill Confirmed.
  • Track Prestige and Calling Card Challenges that overlap with your current class.
  • Complete Weekly Challenges and seasonal events.
  • Use one weapon while progressing its camos and Weapon Prestige.
  • Run Zombies or Endgame when you want longer, continuous XP sessions.
  • Activate Double Player XP and Double Weapon XP for the correct progression type.

Promotional options such as Monster Energy rewards with Dual 2XP can support both account and weapon progression when valid codes remain available.

The existing Müllermilch reward bundle also includes cosmetic content and short Double XP rewards for supported regions and platforms.

Reward Structure & Motivation

Account Prestige rewards long-term Player Level progression, while Weapon Prestige rewards commitment to individual guns.

The two systems can progress alongside:

  • Mastery Camos
  • Calling Card Challenges
  • Reticle Challenges
  • Mastery Badges
  • Daily and Weekly Challenges
  • Seasonal events
  • Battle Pass progression

You do not need to Prestige to continue playing. However, avoiding account Prestige locks you out of its themed icons, exclusive challenges, Operator skins, Blueprints, and the full Prestige Master track.

Likewise, Weapon Prestige remains optional, but skipping it means missing each weapon’s unique Prestige Attachment and Prestige camo path.

Final Thoughts

Black Ops 7 Prestige offers two separate grinds. Account Prestige resets your Level Unlock track ten times, while Weapon Prestige develops each gun through two resets and a final 250-level Master path.

Before confirming a reset, check which items will relock and spend Permanent Unlocks strategically. Your camos, weapon progress, challenges, cosmetics, and purchased content remain safe, so Prestige changes access—not the progress you have already earned.

Black Ops 7 Prestige FAQs

How many Prestige levels are in Black Ops 7?

Black Ops 7 has ten standard Prestiges. After completing Prestige 10, you enter Prestige Master and can continue leveling to 1,000.

Does Black Ops 7 Prestige reset weapons?

It relocks weapons tied to Military Levels, but it does not erase their weapon levels, camos, attachments, or saved progression. Regaining access to the weapon restores your existing progress.

Does Prestige reset your camos?

No. Account Prestige and Weapon Prestige both preserve earned camos. Weapon Prestige relocks most attachments, but cosmetic progress remains intact.

Can you choose not to Prestige at Level 55?

Yes. Prestige is optional, so you can remain at Max Level until you decide that the rewards and reset are worth it.

What should I use my first Permanent Unlock on?

Choose a late-level Perk, Wildcard, Field Upgrade, Scorestreak, or weapon you use frequently. A Perk or Wildcard can offer better long-term value when your favorite weapon already has a Blueprint.

What is the difference between account and Weapon Prestige?

Account Prestige resets your Player Level and relocks Level Unlock items. Weapon Prestige resets one weapon’s level and most attachments while granting weapon-specific rewards.

Do weapon levels carry across game modes?

Yes. Supported weapon progression carries across Co-op Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone when you use the same weapon.

Is Prestige Master the same as Level 1,000?

No. Prestige Master begins after you complete all ten standard Prestiges. Level 1,000 is the final level cap inside the Prestige Master progression track.
