Black Ops 7 has one connected Campaign that you can play solo or online with up to three teammates. It includes 11 story missions, global progression, a Campaign-specific camo path, and the replayable Endgame experience on Avalon.
Unlike a traditional Call of Duty campaign, it requires an online connection even for solo play. It also has no Campaign split-screen, normal solo pause, or manual difficulty selection.
What Makes the Co-op Campaign Special
The story follows David Mason and Specter One as they investigate The Guild, Emma Kagan, and a psychological-warfare threat.
Its main features include:
- Solo or 1–4 player online play
- Shared objectives and story moments
- Player XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression
- Campaign and Endgame weapon camos
- A replayable PvE Endgame mode
The Black Ops 7 main hub keeps the game’s Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, and progression options together.
All 11 Black Ops 7 Campaign Missions
| # | Mission | # | Mission |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Exposure | 7 | Fracture |
| 2 | Inside | 8 | Quarantine |
| 3 | Distortion | 9 | Suppression |
| 4 | Escalation | 10 | Breakpoint |
| 5 | Disruption | 11 | Containment |
| 6 | Collapse |
Each chapter supports solo or online squad play. However, leaving midway can force you to restart that mission later, so allow enough time to finish before beginning.
Endgame Mode: Co-op on a Whole New Level
At launch, completing all 11 missions unlocked Endgame for hosting and solo access. As of Season 4 Reloaded, Endgame is free through the end of Season 5, so Campaign completion is not the only current access route.
Endgame supports up to 32 players on Avalon in squads of four. Players fight AI, complete dynamic Assignments, enter increasingly dangerous Exposure Zones, raise Combat Rating, select Skills, and extract to preserve progress.
Before deployment, you choose an Operator, loadout, Major Ability, and Minor Ability. Wingsuits and vehicles then help the squad move across Avalon.
The Call Of Duty Black Ops 7 Campaign Endgame Explained article covers the mode’s wider systems separately.
Players focused on Campaign weapon challenges can compare the existing BO7 camo progression support after choosing which weapons they want to complete.
Camos, Progression, and Rewards
Campaign eliminations and objectives contribute to Global XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progress. BO7 also gives Campaign and Endgame their own weapon-camo journey.
Genesis is the final Campaign and Endgame mastery reward, while Singularity belongs to Multiplayer. The Black Ops 7 Dark Matter Guide explains the separate mastery paths.
Players pursuing the Multiplayer route can still review the existing Singularity Camo unlock option without treating it as a Campaign reward.
For wider performance tracking, How To Check Your Black Ops 7 Stats shows where BO7 stores Combat Record and progression information.
Tips for Completing the Co-op Campaign
Finish One Mission Per Session
The Campaign remains online-only and cannot be paused normally in solo play. Backing out or losing connection can also return you to the beginning of the current mission.
An independent review of the Campaign’s online limitations covers these restrictions in more detail.
Give Each Player a Clear Role
Use a mix of close-range damage, mid-range cover, and support abilities. Clear roles help the squad control larger encounters and recover teammates more safely.
Stay Within Revive Distance
Splitting up can speed up a simple objective, but it also makes downs harder to recover. Move in pairs when a mission opens into a larger combat space.
Use Abilities During Difficult Fights
Do not save every ability for the final room. Movement, defensive, and damage abilities can prevent a failed encounter earlier in the mission.
Track One Progression Goal
Decide whether the run focuses on story completion, Intel, Weapon XP, or camos. This keeps the squad moving toward the same outcome.
Extract Before Overreaching
In Endgame, a longer deployment offers more progress, but failing to extract can cost what you collected. Leave before entering a zone your current Combat Rating cannot handle.

Challenges You Should Know
- The Campaign is always online, including solo sessions.
- Campaign co-op does not support split-screen.
- Difficulty scales without a traditional difficulty menu.
- Solo play has no normal pause.
- Leaving early can restart the current mission.
- A squad makes revives and divided objectives easier.
Promotional items sit outside the normal Campaign path. The existing Monster Energy codes for BO7 page covers those separate rewards.
Solo vs Squad Play
Solo play works, but you handle every objective and enemy angle yourself. A squad can split tasks, combine abilities, and recover from downs more easily. However, the game also scales the challenge, so adding players does not remove every difficult encounter.
Why the Co-op Campaign Is a Big Deal
The 11 missions connect story content with BO7’s global progression. Endgame then extends those systems into a replayable PvE loop with Assignments, Combat Rating, Skill Tracks, camos, and extraction.
Final Thoughts
Black Ops 7 gives its Campaign more replay value through online co-op, global progression, unique camos, and Endgame. Go in knowing the practical limits: it stays online, cannot be paused normally, has no Campaign split-screen, and may restart a mission if you leave early.
