Minion Giant is a free-flying win-condition card, unlocked entirely through the Academy Antics Album Event; it won’t drop in chests until next season.
The Minion Giant bypasses ground defenders to target buildings and Crown Towers directly. From range, it attacks to chip down enemy structures.
You can unlock it by collecting Snippets and completing the Academy Antics Album Event reward track, which offers up to 1,750 copies of the card. It is locked out of normal chest drops, trades, and shop rotations until Season 88 begins.

New Hero – Ice Wizard
Hero Ice Wizard unlocks by picking him as a reward on the upgraded Pass Royale track, or by spending 200 Hero Coins outright.
The ice mage skills include:
- Hero Ability “Frosty Fella”: When triggered, the Ice Wizard targets the nearest slowed enemy troop and summons a Sneaky Snowman right behind them.
- Crowd Control Lock: On spawn, the Snowman deals area damage and completely freezes surrounding enemy troops.
- Counterplay Mechanic: The freeze duration isn’t on a fixed timer alone. Opposing players must destroy the Snowman to break the icy lock and free their push.
Academy Antics – How to Unlock Minion Giant for Free
Completing the Academy Antics album is the only way to get Minion Giant this Clash Royale September 2026 season. It is achievable through daily play paired with the final-week catch-up boost.
Unlocked from Arena 3 onward, the event revolves around collecting Snippets across four rarity tiers: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
- Snippet Progression Loop: Earn up to 3 Snippets daily through battle rewards, with extra Snippets available in the Shop and during special events.
- Duplicate Rerolls: Duplicate Snippets convert automatically into progress; trading 4 Duplicates yields a guaranteed Unique Snippet that fills an unowned slot in your album.

- Royale Shuffle (Sept 21 – Oct 5): Features a randomised mode wheel spanning 12 classic Clash Royale formats played with pre-made decks. Competing in the Royale Shuffle Challenge (Sept 28 – Oct 5) awards an exclusive Battle Banner.
Royale Shuffle features 12 different formats, including Draft, Triple Elixir, and Touchdown. The format is selected randomly by a wheel before each match, so players do not know which ruleset they will get in advance.
Balance Changes Worth Knowing
Most of the September 1 patch was targeted at Hero and Evolution bug fixes; these two changes are the ones that actually affect ranked strategy:
- Ultimate Champion Draw Penalty Halved: A draw in Ultimate Champion now costs only half the usual defeat trophy penalty for both players, preventing massive rating drops during defensive stalemates.
