Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 Reloaded added a new Dark Aether rift, three schematics and even a free blueprint reward into Zombies. The MW3 Season 3 Reloaded update gave zombies fans long awaited story content with the new ACT mission, which may signal the end of ACT 4. Here’s how to unlock the new dark aether rift in MW3 Zombies Season 3 Reloaded.
WHAT ARE THE NEW SCHEMATICS
- Dead Wire Detonators (Schematic): Are you still shocked at the impressive electrical damage the Dead Wire Ammo Mod inflicts? Then you might want to employ the Dead Wire Detonator, and attach it to all your explosive weaponry, including Lethals and Launchers!
- Golden Mask Filter (Schematic): A prized schematic with a shiny hue and an impressive, long-lasting effect — gain a self-regenerating gas mask for the rest of the match. This comes in extremely handy for surviving zombie strongholds and any surprises in the rifts.
- Sergeant’s Beret (Schematic): Your outcomes no longer need to be terminal when dealing with Zakhaev’s hired guns; simply don the Sergeant’s Beret to disguise yourself among the Mercs, and summon a trusty Merc Bodyguard who shadows you to the end.
COMPLETE THE NEW ACT 4 MISSION
Season 3 Reloaded added a new ACT mission titled “Union”. Players will need to complete the mission in order to unlock the “Attuned giraffe”, an item required to open the new Dark Aether rift.
The mission guides players to destroy three large aether crystals before facing off against a HVT disciple boss.
COLLECT THREE ARTIFACTS
Players will need to collect the following artifacts in reward rifts on Urzikstan, which can be picked up by all players on your squad:
- Laptop: Go to a Mercenary Camp & have a friendly dog kill the Sergeant. You can spawn a friendly dog via Dog Bone schematic or Pieces of Meat.
- Journal: Go to the Aether Storm & kill zombies until a reward rift spawns. You do not need to kill Stormcaller.
- Drawing: Go to the house in I7 across from Shahin Manor, go upstairs to the bedroom & interact with the object underneath the bed. (Death Perception can show you footsteps to lead you into the room, but isn’t needed.)
UPGRADING THREE ARTIFACTS
A new Easter Egg was added to Season 3 Reloaded allowing players to unlock guaranteed legendary aether tools and tier 3 pack a punch pistols. This Easter Egg can also be used to upgrade the Dark Aether relics. Three glowing triangles were added to the following locations:
- Old Town – Can Upgrade The Journal
- Opal Palace – Can Upgrade The laptop
- Opal Palace – Can Upgrade The Drawing
Once the glowing triangle is found, here’s what you need to do:
- Shoot the three runes that each of the triangle’s edges point towards
- Stand where the beams of light align to form a triangle
- While looking at the orb, sacrifice the artifact that’s tied to that triangle
- Kill zombies while standing in the circle
- Kill the HVT mini boss to spawn a reward rift with the upgraded artifact
COMPLETING THE THIRD RIFT
Once a player has all four Dark Aether artifacts, they can place them in the pedestals at Old Town which allows them to spawn into the new rift. While inside the third rift, players can find the three contracts where the yellow beams of light are shining. Players will need to complete:
- Bounty
- Escort
- Outlast
Finishing any of these contracts will give players a chance of unlocking one of the new schematics listed above.
FREE ANIMATED BLUEPRINT
After all three contracts have been completed and before an exfil, players can locate four spores around the rift which can be destroyed. Once all four spores are destroyed, a similar boss to the ACT 4 disciple HVT will spawn. Killing this boss will reward players with the ‘Smoke Signals’ animated blueprint which can be taken into any mode of their choice.
